Brand voice, sharpened by AI

I help brands sound like themselves at AI scale.

40 years of storytelling craft, now built into the systems that keep a voice consistent.

SALIM AKHTAR  ·  BRAND & CREATIVE DIRECTOR
The problem

AI gave every brand unlimited output. Most of them spent it sounding like everyone else.

The tools are extraordinary — content at a volume no team could ever match. That part is genuinely good. But volume without a defined voice produces the average of everything the model has read. Competent, fast, forgettable.

The old fix doesn't apply. A brand guidelines PDF was written for humans to read. An AI can't generate from a mood board — it needs the voice supplied as something it can work from. Give it that, and it produces more of you.

Used well, AI doesn't flatten a voice.
It multiplies it.
What I build

A voice system your tools can actually use

Not a document that sits in a drawer. A working system your people run every day.

I define your voice as an operational specification — attributes, tone rules, preferred and forbidden language, worked on-brand and off-brand examples drawn from your own material. Then I build the generation setup that feeds it into the AI tools you already use, so the volume you're producing starts sounding like you.

The rare part isn't the AI. Knowing what makes a voice distinct — and codifying it so a machine can hold it — is the harder half. It's the half AI can't supply on its own. That's what four decades of creative direction is for.

Who this is for

Three kinds of brand

Founder-led brands

You built something with a point of view, then scaled the content and watched it go quiet. The point of view didn't disappear — it just never got written down in a form the tools could use.

Creators & personal brands

Your voice is the product, and scaling it without losing it is the whole problem. AI can carry more of it than you'd think — once it's been told what it's carrying.

Agencies

You find everyone else's voice for a living. Your own deserves the same rigour, and the tools your team already uses can hold it once it's properly specified.

How we work together

Three ways in

Most start at the first rung. You only have to choose where to begin.

01

The Pilot

Start here

One brand voice, defined and made AI-ready. Low risk, fast, fixed price — a real look at the work before any bigger commitment.

  • Voice system document
  • AI generation kit
  • Working handoff so your team runs it
02

The Complete Build

The full system

Everything the pilot delivers, extended across your whole content surface — every format, channel, and use case your brand speaks in.

  • Extended voice system with tone modulation by context
  • Team enablement and training
  • A review cycle against real output before sign-off
03

The Retainer

Ongoing

A built system drifts — new people, new channels, new tools. This keeps it a living standard rather than a document that ages.

  • Periodic audits of live content against the system
  • Updates as channels and tools change
  • On-call judgment for the calls a rulebook can't cover

On pricing: each engagement is a fixed fee, quoted once I've seen your brand — no hourly meter, no open-ended scope. You work directly with me, not an agency's overhead. The pilot is a deliberately accessible entry point.

Background

Forty years of making things sound like themselves

Thirty years as a creative and advertising director — brand work, campaigns, and corporate films for JW Marriott, Hindustan Unilever, ICICI Bank, Tata Chemicals, Yahoo India and Zee Network. Before that, a decade in Bollywood, directing music videos for artists including Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Jagjit Singh.

That decade taught me the thing all of it rests on: how a story makes someone feel something, and stay.

I'll be straight about what I can and can't show. My track record is the craft. Applying it through AI systems is newer, and I can show you the working voice systems I've built, including my own. Where a client result would normally sit, the pilot is how we create the first one together. I won't claim outcomes I can't attribute.

Next step

Tell me where the voice is drifting

Name the brand and the place it's slipping — the emails, the product copy, the posts. Send a sample and I'll come back with a fixed quote and a date.
